�The Karate Kid Challenge�

The final of the Sony Karate Kid challenge was held in Dundrum shopping centre. 15 teams competed for the fabulous prize of a trip to China worth 10,000 euro, with a guided tour of the locations from the film. Congratulations to the winners Matt Malloy and Jonathan Hilley from Trim Kenpo Karate Club. The runners up receive a trip to London for the premier.

European Kenpo Camp Mount Wolsey Carlow

This year's camp had 260 Kenpoists from Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, Denmark, France, Austria,

Spain, Germany. Brazil and USA in attendance in the Mount Wolseley Hotel for the weekend.

Senior Championships

Santar�m, Portugal 7th - 11th April 2010

Results from Santerem were as follows: David Brashaw: Veterarn wado-Ryu Kata - Gold, Sam Lewis: Veteran Kumite - Bronze, Team kata Wado-Ryu (David Brashaw, Kevin & Sam Lewis) - 3rd place.

Santar�m, Portugal 7th - 11th April 2010

The Ulster Karate-Do Federation senior squad were successful at the WUKF European Senior and Veteran Championships in Santat�m in Portugal in April 2010. Denise Donaghey won Gold in the Senior Ladies Kumite 60Kgs+, Mary Doherty won Silver in the Ladies Veteran Kata event, Shawn Barron won Bronze in Veteran Kumite and another Bronze in Veteran Kata. The UKF Ladies Senior Team of Denise Donaghey, Tracey McBrearty and Majella O'Reilly took a Bronze in the Senior Ladies Shobu Sanbon Team Kumite. Well done to all.
