Welcome to the Home of Irish Karate
The Irish Karate Advisory Board (I.K.A.B.) is the Governing body for Karate
within the Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC). The I.K.A.B. promote
understanding and training in, the Martial and Spiritual Arts of Karate, in all
their styles, on both a local, national and International level.
The
I.K.A.B. endeavour to foster and improve the communications, understanding and
co-operation between the various organisations, clubs and individuals within the
Irish Karate community. The I.K.A.B. shall make available, information, advice
and where necessary, training to ensure that all karate clubs are operating with
full insurance cover and at a level of tuition and safety that safeguards the
well being of all practitioners and spectators, and in accordance with any
guidelines set down by the Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC)
The
integrity, independence and traditions of individual organisations and clubs
will be totally respected and defended by the Irish Karate Advisory Board, as
will the right of each organisation to operate its own grading/promotion system,
once it has been accepted onto the Board as a bona-fide karate organisation.
